How long have you been a funeral arranger?
I have been a funeral arranger for almost 2 years. Prior to joining the industry, I worked in the retail industry.
What led me here? I have previously looked after very good friends whose loved ones had passed away and it felt like a natural progression.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
To be able to assist families in need and guide them through a difficult time in their lives. I also enjoy listening to families and helping them organise a funeral for their loved one.
What was your most memorable service you arranged?
There are too many to single out although we service a lot of nationalities and different religions in the local area, no two funerals are the same.
My discussions with Sarah Toal, from when I first informed her my dad had passed away to the communication until she picked him up and when he was delivered to the crematorium, were all spot on. I was lucky that my father had a pre-paid plan, so there was little to be done, but Sarah’s empathy and understanding at a very raw time was what I needed.
